Wiremill
'What are the roots that clutch? what branches grow out of this stony rubbish?' T. S. Eliot - The Waste Land
Wiremill Dam is one of several small dams created around the steel and cutlery making industry in the Porter Valley. After its industrial use, it became a popular spot for fishing after work, duck feeding, tadpoling and ice skating. Still used for fishing it has a quiet, contemplative and calming atmosphere which draws you back.
